We have opened crowdfunding for the "12 methods" calendar
Biomolecule opens crowdfunding on Planeta.ru , the purpose of which is to print and distribute the calendar "12 methods" for 2019! Readers of our website are well aware of the special project "12 biological methods in pictures": it is one of our most favorite, which turned out to be so large–scale that we decided not to stop there and release the material embodiment of this special project - a wall calendar for 2019.
The calendar "12 methods" is an original and meaningful gift to a scientific supervisor (or, conversely, a student or graduate student), a beloved biology teacher, a talented Olympiad student or entrant, his friend or himself.
The author of the idea and illustrator was Olga Ptashnik is a graduate of Phys Tech and the winner of international illustration competitions.
Each month of the calendar corresponds to one of the main methods of modern biology: for example, May is dedicated to "dry" biology, and December is devoted to neurobiology.
From the calendar, you will learn how scientists get scientific results – for example, how to separate molecules invisible to the eye in solution or conduct an experiment without spending a drop of reagent.
You will find the most detailed articles on each such topic – just click on the QR code at the bottom of each sheet. And to make the calendar more interesting, we have collected important biological dates in its grid – when discoveries were made or Nobel laureates were born.
Our calendar is super–informative, and in order to make it easier to read and look at, we made it large – A2 format (approximately 40 × 60 cm). Thanks to the support of the company "Diaem", which supplies reagents and laboratory equipment, we managed to make the calendar very affordable: the company assumed the costs related to printing the circulation.
Action "give a calendar to a teacher"
You can also do another good deed. Together with the educational fund "Evolution", we made an action "Give a calendar to a teacher". The Evolution Foundation has collected a database of the best biology teachers across Russia, and by choosing this action, you will send a calendar to a teacher from this database. Your calendar will be hanging in a biology class somewhere a thousand kilometers away from you!
Our goals
By launching the 12 Methods project, we want every reader not only to be aware of the latest scientific achievements, but also to understand how they were obtained. This will help to understand gigabytes of scientific information, distinguish a breakthrough discovery from a newspaper duck and form a literate society in which everyone is well versed in the most important issues – the issues of life.
