"Today"Yaroslava Berezhnaya from Kiev grew a chupacabra in her apartment.

Exclusive details of life with, to put it mildly, an unusual pet, the girl told especially for Today.ua.

This story began two years ago. On a winter evening, the girl was returning home from work. Passing by the snow-covered Palm Lake (Obolonsky district of the capital), she heard a plaintive squeak. Yaroslava saw a small lump in the bushes on the shore of the lake, similar to a kitten, which was the source of the sound. The girl decided to take the unfortunate animal home to warm and feed.

In Yaroslav's apartment, she carefully examined her find and saw that the animal was completely devoid of fur. "I then thought it was a purebred kitten, a sphinx," she recalls. After a few minutes, the restless kid left a puddle in the corner. Then Yaroslav had a suitable name for her pet – Moveton.

The girl decided to keep the animal. The Moveton grew up, he got fur, but he did not look like a cat, although he ate food for kittens with pleasure.

Yaroslav was especially surprised by the too–long fangs and claws - cats definitely don't have such – and the reddish tint of the baby's eyes.

She turned to a familiar specialist from the Institute of Biology Maxim Ponomarenko (surname changed – ed.) with a request to look at the animal and accurately determine its species.

When the expert saw the grown-up Moveton, he was stunned with surprise. "To all my questions, Maxim muttered that "this can't be, it needs to be checked" and so on. He took blood from the Moveton for analysis, shone a flashlight into his eyes, took some more measurements, promised to call back and left," says the owner of the beast. A few days later, Yaroslava heard the conclusions of a specialist – she was raising a chupacabra at home.

Naturally, at first the girl decided that the friend was joking. But he brought her DNA samples of a chupacabra found dead in one of the villages of the Fastovsky district in 2011, and explained that they match the DNA of the Moveton by 98%. Maxim demanded to give the animal for analysis and research. Yaroslava flatly refused. By this time, she had managed to love the animal and would never put it in danger. After much persuasion, Maxim agreed not to tell anyone about the amazing discovery.

A lot of time has passed since then. The animal has grown beautiful and fluffy. The Moveton loves to walk on the street, he is used to the leash, and enjoys breathing fresh air. Yaroslava tries to leave the house with him early, while there are few people on the street who may have questions about long fangs and red eyes. She allowed us to take some pictures of a unique animal for publication on the site.
