It's not worth it, guys!

The increase in the size of the penis was called dangerous and useless

An analysis of more than a thousand men who underwent surgery to enlarge the penis showed that surgical and non-surgical interventions had no effect.

Moreover, operations often led to complications. The scientists' article was published in the journal Sexual Medicine (Clavell-Hernández et al., Non-Infectious Reservoir-Related Complications During and After Penile Prosthesis Placement).

American researchers from St. Joseph's Medical Center and the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston conducted a meta-analysis of 17 different scientific papers, in which a total of 1,192 men participated. All of them underwent surgery to enlarge the penis by surgical and non-surgical methods.

According to the study, penis enlargement procedures were not always effective and often led to complications.

Non-surgical treatment using special dilators led to a positive result in some cases, but increased the size of the organ by less than two centimeters.

Procedures using injections "increased the width", but were associated with an increased risk of complications. The methods in which vacuum devices were used did not demonstrate any effectiveness at all.

Surgical intervention included operations to cut the supporting ligament of the penis, skin and subcutaneous fat transplantation, as well as the introduction of cartilage tissue between the head and the base of the organ. According to the researchers, some people who underwent such operations "reported a significant increase in the size of the penis." But the effectiveness of these methods has not been tested in other studies. In addition, the authors of the papers analyzed by American scientists talked about quite frequent complications after surgery.

"Enlargement of the penis of a small size in men using existing methods is ineffective and dangerous. The studies that reported successful treatment were extremely low–quality and were not independently confirmed by other scientific groups, the authors of the study say. – Injections and surgical intervention should be used last of all to treat the pathology of micropenis, since there is a risk of serious complications."
