The most useless way to prevent melanoma

Sunscreens will not save their owner from skin cancer

KM.RUBritish scientists have proved that sunscreens protect only from burns and mild forms of skin cancer, but not from melanoma, according to Medical News Today (Sunscreen alone 'not enough' to protect against melanoma).

Moreover, applying sunscreen to the skin is recognized as the most ineffective way to prevent cancer.

The experiment was performed on two-month-old mice with a damaged DNA structure predisposing them to the development of skin cancer. Applying sunscreen did not completely protect them from further development of the disease.

Also, experts came to the conclusion that light linen and cotton fabrics, especially light and wet ones, will not protect from oncological diseases. Only dense materials, like wool or jeans, can hide their owner from ultraviolet radiation, but this does not mean that you can go to the beach in jeans and a sweater.

Doctors said that many people apply sun creams irregularly and forget about them after bathing, which negates all protection. They reminded that sunburn products should be applied even before going outside and do not spare them.

The time from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. is considered the most dangerous. During this period, it is better to protect yourself from direct sunlight or go out in a T-shirt, sunglasses and with a cream with a degree of protection of at least SPF 15.
