Another case of fake pills

Law enforcement agencies of St. Petersburg have opened two criminal cases against the general director of the pharmaceutical company LLC "Ji-Pharma" on suspicion of unlicensed activity, as well as the production and sale of counterfeit medicines. This is reported in a press release of the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare and Social Development (Roszdoravnadzor).

As a result of the inspections carried out by Roszdravnadzor, facts of unlicensed activity of Ji-Pharma LLC were established, including the illegal sale of a batch of Milgamma drug for a total amount of 179,403 rubles. As a result, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Kirovsky district of St. Petersburg opened a criminal case against the general director of the enterprise R.V.Gladkiy on the fact of illegal business activity in the wholesale sale of medicines.

Earlier, another criminal case was initiated against R. Gladkiy – on the fact of the production and sale of the falsified drug "TeraFlu".

In recent months, the management of Roszdravnadzor has repeatedly predicted an increase in the turnover of counterfeit medicines in the context of the economic crisis. In this regard, the federal service insists on tougher penalties for forgery and production of substandard medicines, and also seeks the right to independently conduct cases of administrative violations in this area.

Comment by the head of Roszdravnadzor Nikolay Yurgel:

"In its activities, Roszdravnadzor closely cooperates with various state, public and professional organizations. Materials on violations detected during inspections conducted by Roszdravnadzor are sent to law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor's office for further consideration and taking the necessary measures.

In the current economic conditions, there is an intensification of the activities of unscrupulous participants in the pharmaceutical market, manifested in gross violations of licensing requirements, as well as an increase in the number of substandard and falsified medicines entering the market. Such facts pose an immediate threat to the health and life of patients and require active joint activities of all interested agencies to prevent and prevent them."
