Dreams of Russian insulin

An insulin production plant may be built in St. PetersburgThe northern capital is preparing proposals to the federal level for the construction of pharmaceutical plants in the city.

This was announced at a press conference on April 1 by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Lyudmila Kostkina.

According to the Vice-governor, this work is one of the measures to combat the dominance of imported medicines that are imported from abroad, and, accordingly, are very expensive in the current conditions.

L. Kostkina noted that the construction of pharmaceutical plants is planned in the industrial zones of the city. Several sites are being considered for the creation of production facilities and negotiations are already underway with two companies.

"In particular, we are negotiating with a French company about the construction of an insulin production plant, but I cannot say now that this investment project is already in operation," L. Kostkina said.

Recall that the need to build pharmaceutical plants in Russia right now, in a crisis, was stated on Friday, March 27, at a meeting with the participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktor Zubkov, the Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko.
