Heart crisis

Reach 75
In terms of mortality, Russia is on a par with the countries of Central Africa

Mila Orishchenko, Novye IzvestiaThe financial crisis has already led to an increase in mortality from cardiovascular diseases.

This was announced yesterday by the General Director of the Russian Cardiological Research and Production Complex, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Evgeny Chazov. According to statistics, 20 times more people die from stress caused by instability in the country than from incorrect diagnoses.

According to Academician Chazov, 1.3 million people die from cardiovascular diseases in Russia every year, which is 56% of the total number of deaths. "Heart diseases arise due to a severe psychosocial situation – economy, politics, crisis," the scientist explained to NI. Mr. Chazov believes that it is urgent to adopt a law on prevention and appoint those responsible for its implementation: "Why can't employers heal their workers? Take Norway, Sweden – the employer is responsible for everything there."

330 thousand Russians die from oncological diseases every year. And from erroneous diagnoses – 70 thousand . Yesterday, at the parliamentary hearings dedicated to reducing mortality, the first deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Health Protection, Nikolai Gerasimenko, called for retraining all doctors. Vice-President of the Academy of Medical Sciences Alexander Baranov said that "science knows how to reduce mortality, but we have not yet received an order from the authorities."

Currently, the mortality rate (14.6 per 1000 people) Russia is on a par with the countries of Central Africa. At the same time, every third person who died in our country has not reached retirement age. The Ministry of Health and Social Development believes that many citizens are to blame for not living enough. Yesterday, Elena Bugrova, Deputy director of the Department of Organization of Medical Care of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, said that next year a separate direction of promoting a healthy lifestyle and combating smoking and alcoholism will appear within the framework of the national project "Health". The total amount of funds allocated for this is 28 billion rubles. According to the plan, by 2025, Russians should live to 75 years instead of the current 67, and the country's population will increase from 141 million people to 145.Portal "Eternal youth" www.vechnayamolodost.ru
