Retired Air Force Lieutenant General with cancer committed suicide in Moscow

Copper newsRetired Air Force Lieutenant General Anatoly Kudryavtsev, who had stomach cancer in the fourth stage, committed suicide in a Moscow apartment at 10 Michurinsky Prospekt, Olympic Village.

This is reported by Interfax with reference to unnamed sources.

A military pensioner hanged himself with a string attached to the door handle. According to the source, a suicide note was found in the apartment. In it, Kudryavtsev asked not to blame anyone for his death. The 77-year-old general explained that he was passing away because he could no longer tolerate pain.

The official representative of the GSU of the RF IC in Moscow, Yulia Ivanova, confirmed to the agency information about the discovery of a man's body in an apartment in the west of Moscow. According to her, documents of interest to the investigation have been seized from the scene of the incident; a pre-investigation check has been launched. Ivanova did not specify other details. It is not known whether Kudryavtsev had any difficulties with buying strong painkillers.

Now the authorities are engaged in simplifying the access of seriously ill people to narcotic analgesics. The government took care of simplifying access to strong painkillers after the death of Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Apanasenko, who suffered from terminal cancer. In February 2014, the military committed suicide. According to his relatives, the reason for his act was the inability to get painkillers, because of which he had to endure severe pain.
