Moscow social activists propose to expand the "Active Longevity" program

Public figures in Moscow propose to expand the "Active Longevity" program for older citizens. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of Moscow, TV presenter Arina Sharapova during a joint round table with the MHD dedicated to the implementation of the city program "Active Longevity".

"Today, the foundation of the city program "Active Longevity" has been laid. Adult people gathered here, and they all gladly took the initiative. I hope this will now go into the system. Now we are writing a program that we hope to offer to our mayor. The increase in the number of elderly people is a global trend. Our task is to involve them in social activity," Sharapova said.

In turn, Moscow City Duma deputy Nadezhda Babkina also noted the importance of the Active Longevity program.

"The Active Longevity program is very important. Times are changing, and now all organizations that are engaged in social projects should unite and participate in a common large program "Active Longevity". This program gives a person an understanding – to realize their knowledge and skills as long as possible. The Moscow government very correctly noted that it is necessary to create a system so that the residents of Moscow are very active participants in this project. And there are already 3 million such residents in Moscow," N. Babkina noted.

The program was developed in 2016 based on the results of a crowdsourcing project implemented on the portal crowd.mos.ru . It includes activities related to various spheres of life: health care, active recreation, cultural leisure, education and self-development, and so on.
