Faculty of Biological and Medical Physics (FBMF)
It is in these areas that the rapid technologization of knowledge around the world is taking place, associated with successes in decoding the human genome, successes in cellular technologies.
This year, the genuine interest of applicants to the Faculty of Biological and Medical Physics (FBMF) was noted.
On July 5, 2013, the future students were addressed by the Dean of the FBMF – PhD Melerzanov A.V., who spoke about the specifics of training, as well as the fact that the faculty trains specialists in several fields at once – biophysics, biomedical engineering and biotechnology.
When asked about the admission conditions, A.V. Melerzanov told about studying at MIPT, including answering the questions of applicants: "Of course, there is a competition, this year it is higher than last year, and the decision to enroll in the faculty is made, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, based on the results of the Unified State Exam, as well as the entrance interview. Our task is to create the most favorable conditions for the professional and creative growth of future specialists, and we have a very powerful tool in our hands — the Severny Biofarm Cluster. Someone likes to explore, someone likes to implement new projects - perhaps to implement everything. Those who have passed the Phys Tech school easily find themselves in almost all areas, and the built-up connections with the participants of the Biopharmaceutical Cluster will allow them to offer good jobs in their specialty."
The head of the Department of Innovative Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnologies, Doctor of Technical Sciences, A.A. Ivashchenko, spoke about the direction of "living systems" at Phys.Tech. "Students that stem cells, create favorable conditions, clusters, innovative projects, new companies arise. Phys Tech is just that environment. The Center for Biopharmaceuticals at MIPT will become an "integrator" of Russian development institutes that can support various biomedical projects of a new scientific complex at different stages, fundamental science and the pharmaceutical industry."
Olga Plotnikova, a representative of the student asset, spoke about the busy life of the faculty: the curatorial system, the asset school, the student. the council, sports events and the football team.
Oleg Korzinov, Executive Director of the BFC "Severny", Director of the BBI, conducted tours of the faculty's laboratories and spoke about current innovative projects.
Applicants were given the opportunity to talk with the heads of the faculty and laboratories, project managers, senior students at the buffet table.
BFC Severny pays special attention to the integration of university applied science and high-tech business in the pharmaceutical and medical industries by creating small innovative enterprises (start-ups) based on MIPT business incubators and creating conditions for the development, production and market launch of innovative pharmaceutical and medical products through the cooperation of applied science, medical centers, industry with support at the federal and regional levels.
