A number of companies are planning to open production complexes
in the St. Petersburg pharmaceutical cluster
Next year, several innovation and production complexes will open on the territory of the St. Petersburg pharmaceutical cluster. This was told by the governor Georgy Poltavchenko, stressing that now about 100 names of medicines are produced in the pharmaceutical cluster.
In particular, the governor noted, in 2015, the Novartis Neva plant, the research complex of the Vital Development Corporation, is being prepared for launch. The Vertex company also plans to put into operation the first stage of the innovation and production complex and is designing the second stage, the Cytomed company is completing the construction of the first stage of production.
Georgy Poltavchenko stressed that only in 2014 the residents of the pharmaceutical cluster mastered the production of 10 new names of medicines. He added that the bulk of these are import-substituting drugs.
