ISKCH has concluded a settlement agreement with the Media Holding Expert

The Human Stem Cell Institute and the Media Holding Expert have concluded a settlement agreement in the case of recovery of 44.4 million rubles from the Media Holding Expert as compensation for losses incurred by the Russian Reporter and reputational damage caused by the publication of the article "Money on the blood of babies" in the Russian Reporter magazine, reports the ISC.

The settlement agreement was approved by the Ninth Appellate Arbitration Court and entered into force on March 12, 2015.

The parties agreed that the publication of the article "Money on the blood of babies", published in the Russian Reporter No. 3 (281) dated January 24-31, 2013 and on the magazine's website, caused damage to the business reputation and caused losses to the HSC, in connection with which the HSC is entitled to compensation for reputational damage and damages.

According to the terms of the settlement agreement, the Expert Media Holding will provide advertising space in the Expert magazine as compensation for reputational damage and compensation for losses incurred.

According to Artur Isaev, General Director of the ISC: "We decided to meet the defendant halfway and conclude a settlement agreement. The modern print press is in a difficult economic situation today. Media holding Expert produces some of the best printed publications in Russia. The areas received as compensation in the Expert magazine will be used, among other things, to popularize socially significant projects and technologies related to transplants of hematopoietic stem cells of bone marrow and umbilical cord blood, as well as with the prevention and treatment of hereditary diseases."
