In February 2015, doctors informed Miss Heather Krueger, who had grade 4 liver failure, that without a liver transplant she was 50% likely to die within 2 months. By that time, the girl had been ill for about two years. The patient's family began to urgently look for a donor – a rather difficult task in the USA, where there are more than 100 thousand people on the transplant waiting lists. They were already completely desperate – but then a former sailor appeared on the scene, and now construction inspector Christopher Dempsey (Christopher Dempsey).

The man heard that some girl urgently needed a liver transplant at work - from his colleague, who was a relative of Heather. As Mr. Dempsey himself told, he thought – would he like someone to help him or his family in such a situation? The answer was unequivocal, and the future donor was tested, which showed that his liver was suitable for Miss Kruger. Christopher himself called Heather, who later said that after the call she and her mother were crying with happiness. After a while, the man invited the girl to lunch to meet in person.

In the following weeks, while the donor and the patient were preparing for the transplant, and the motorcycle club, which Christopher Dempsey is a member of, was raising money for the operation, Mr. Dempsey and Ms. Kruger talked more often. The procedure was scheduled for March 16 – and by that time they had already been on a date with each other several times, but they did not advertise the beginning of the relationship because of the upcoming surgical intervention. The former sailor was a little nervous, but he was sure that everything would go well, and, as he himself stressed, he did not regret his decision for a minute.

After 8 months, Christopher proposed to Heather to marry him, and she agreed. 19 months after the first meeting, the girl married her donor. Now they are both doing well, Mrs. Dempsey has started her studies, and her husband says that he would never have thought that everything would happen this way.
