The International Nanotechnology Forum will be an annual

The International Nanotechnology Forum in Moscow will be held annually. This was stated on December 5 during the closing ceremony of the First International Forum on Nanotechnology by the head of the State Corporation "Rosnantotech" Anatoly Chubais.

According to him, "the forum took place, judging by the fact that 7 thousand people took part in it." In addition, he recalled that on the last day of the exhibition, young scientists in the field of nanotechnology received awards. "We can say that our country will have prospects and a future if young people consider it their life's work."

A. Chubais also said that the corporation has established a prize for scientists for developments in the field of nanotechnology, which have already been implemented and have found their mass application. The head of the Supervisory Board of Rusnano, the Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko signed a protocol on the decision of the council on the establishment of this award the day before.

The prize in the amount of 3 million rubles will be awarded to the authors of scientific achievements, "which have been realized and have received mass recognition."

In just three days of the Forum, its events were attended by over 7000 people.

More than 1,100 representatives of state authorities, the global nanoindustry, entrepreneurs and scientists from 33 countries made reports and presentations at the Forum.

The main topics of discussion at the Forum were the prospects for the development of nanotechnology in Russia and the world, foreign experience in the formation of national innovation systems, the role of the state and business in creating mechanisms for the commercialization of scientific developments in the field of nanotechnology. The Forum participants also discussed the development of venture capital investment in Russia. Special attention was paid to the prospects of using nanotechnology in various sectors of the economy: from electronics, medicine and biotechnology to mechanical engineering, oil and gas and chemical industries, as well as regional programs for their development in Russia.

Within the framework of the scientific program of the Forum, 29 meetings of scientific and technological sections were held, at which 263 sectional reports and presentations were made on 18 main directions of the development of nanotechnology and the creation of nanomaterials. Among the speakers are over 160 leading world scientists.

At the same time, an exhibition of advanced nanotechnology developments was held on the territory of Expocentre, where projects of 80 Russian and foreign companies and organizations were demonstrated. Over 3300 people visited the exhibition in three days. On the closing day, the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov got acquainted with the exposition.

During the Forum, a major investment contract was signed between RUSNANO, ONEXIM Group and Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant on the establishment of a new generation lighting equipment manufacturing enterprise. RUSNANO has also signed cooperation agreements with the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Ministry of Employment and Economy of Finland.

The central event of the last day of the Forum was the summing up of the results of the first international competition of scientific works of young scientists in the field of nanotechnology. 328 scientific papers of Russian and foreign participants were submitted to the competition. The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov.

The main task of the Forum, according to Anatoly Chubais, was "building a bridge between science and business" and promoting the formation of the Russian nanotechnology community. Scientists and developers got an idea of the most popular research areas by business, and representatives of the business community got an opportunity to get acquainted with advanced scientific and technical developments and assess the prospects for their commercialization.

Materials of the business and scientific and technical part of the Forum, including introductory reports at sessions, presentations, and the work of young scientists will be posted on the websites of RUSNANO and the International Forum on Nanotechnology.
