Golodets: Work has begun on restructuring the entire healthcare system

Serious work has begun in Russia to restructure the entire healthcare system. This was stated to ITAR-TASS by Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets.

According to her, the modernization of the industry contributed to its good equipment. However, there are still problems with insufficient qualifications of doctors.

"In accordance with this, serious work is underway to retrain and restructure the entire healthcare system to provide effective medical care," the Deputy Prime Minister explained.

At the same time, Golodets said, perestroika implies the transition to new treatment protocols and the formation of a system for issuing these protocols, updating them. "In fact, the task is to re–launch the system of updating and forming medical care," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.

Speaking about the challenges facing the industry, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to reduce the mortality rate of the population. "By the end of the year, we reached the average life expectancy of 70.4 years," she said.
