Internship in Canada for postdocs

Frederick Bunting Grants 2013-2014 for postdoctoral students (internship in Canada)

The annual Frederick Bunting Grant Program (The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships) was established by the Government of Canada to support the participation of outstanding young professionals, Canadian citizens and foreigners in research postdoctoral programs.

According to the results of the competition, 70 best applicants are selected annually. Fellows receive $70,000 (taxable) per year for two years. Repeated participation in the program is not allowed. If additional funds are allocated, the number of grants may be increased.

The participants of the Competition can be young specialists who have received a degree in the field of healthcare, natural sciences, engineering, humanities or social sciences, demonstrating outstanding research and leadership qualities. Grants are distributed approximately equally among the three main areas represented in the program - medicine, natural and technical, humanities and social sciences.

A Canadian or foreign university, a research institute, a clinic, or a non-profit organization with a strong research base can be the host organization for a scholarship holder of the program. Scholarship holders who have Canadian citizenship and have been educated in Canada must choose a foreign university or organization as the host party; foreign specialists and Canadian citizens who have been educated at foreign universities choose a university (organization) in Canada as the host party.

Acceptance of applications for participation in the 2013-2014 program begins on July 9 and ends on November 1, 2013.

Detailed information is published on the Program's website.
