This robot, which is difficult to distinguish from a living person from a short distance, is the "brainchild" of Chen Xiaoping and his colleagues from the Chinese University of Science and Technology, who have invested in his electronic "brain" the functions of artificial intelligence and deep self-learning, thanks to which the robot is constantly improves his communication skills with other people.

Now this robot, which has received the name "Jia Jia" and which the creators call the "goddess of robots", has the capabilities of natural eye movements, lips, it is able to give its face not only a certain expression, but also the so-called "microexpressions", which, being synchronized with other movements of parts of the face, maximize its photorealism.

Naturally, the Jia Jia robot has a speech synthesizer that allows it to communicate with other people in a more or less natural language. It is noteworthy that the robot is programmed to address any male person only as "my lord". But the main function of the Jia Jia robot is interaction with surrounding people, which should occur in the most natural way, in this the robot is assisted by built-in body position recognition systems, facial expressions of surrounding people, a system of autonomous movement and navigation in a confined space. Most of the technologies described above are implemented in the form of "cloud" services and their use does not lead to a high load on the computing module of the control system.

Chen Xiaoping's group took almost three years to create the Jia Jia robot. And this is taking into account the fact that the group already has sufficient knowledge and experience in the field of robotics. The group already has the creation of the Kejia robot, which took first place in one of the RoboCup championship competitions in 2014, gaining 8555 points out of a possible 10,000.

The new Jia Jia robot is apparently not designed to participate in any competitions at all. "We will work constantly improving this robot. Thanks to the built-in in-depth study functions, it will soon be able to accurately determine the facial expressions of people around it, after a while, accumulating experience, the robot will learn to interact with people in such a way that it will be impossible to distinguish it from a living person," says Chen Xiaoping.
